
On May 23, 2025, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, an international scientific seminar titled “Restructuring the Southern Urban Region: Toward an Integrated, Sustainable Megacity” took place successfully with the participation of researchers, experts, policymakers and business leaders from domestic and international institutions.

In the opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thị Hồng Xuân – Director of the Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities and Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies – emphasized the importance of integrated thinking in sustainable development strategies. The event was honored to welcome Sir Firdauz Othman, Consul General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, the country serving as ASEAN Chair in 2025.

Following the seminar, in a warm and respectful atmosphere, Cờ Thủy Tinh Châu (QiClash) was presented to several delegates as a symbolic cultural gift—representing knowledge, cultural connection and encouragement for sustainable cooperation.
